(Thanks for reporting an issue! Please make sure to fill out the blanks below.)

What's wrong, and with what software version?

TI-OS version: Not quite sure as I had to reinstall the OS, though I bought the calculator in December 2023
TI-Boy CE version: Alpha v0.3.0
Describe your issue:
While I was in the menu, after playing in non stretched mode I clicked '2nd'+'on'. The calculator froze showing a garbled mess of white letters with a blue background. Sort of looked like TI-Boy CE UI. I had to restart the device. When I did the OS was deemed invalid and I had to reinstall it.

What are the steps to reproduce this issue?

  1. Be in non streched mode
  2. Be in the menu on TI-Boy CE version Alpha v0.3.0 on a Ti-84 Plus CE-T Python edition
  3. Press '2nd'+'on'

Are you able to reproduce this issue on your calculator? I can't reproduce it on my end. Were you on a particular option in the menu when doing this?

TI-Boy CE doesn't modify Flash at all aside from normal OS calls to archive and unarchive files. ON is used as a shortcut to exit the program, so if the game has save data or auto save state is enabled, it will attempt to archive files. I can't see this corrupting the OS unless there was already something weird going on with your calculator's filesystem. Or maybe the new calculator you have has some hardware difference, but I don't think that should matter much to TI-Boy if the rest of the emulator is working fine.
