I came across a post of yours when researching multi-instance home assistant installations and it sounded like your mqtt_control component was what I was looking for. Thank you for sharing.
Do you have any issues with your main ha instance not having the correct/latest state of the remote entities after a reboot? From what I can tell the publishing client would use a retain flag for state updates so subscribers would have the correct state after a reboot. I didn't see any mention of retain in the code so I was wondering if you have this issue in your environment.
