Tusk Act 2 Plugin - How to Use

Installation Instructions

Step 1: Download the Plugin

  1. Visit the GitHub Releases page for Tusk Act 2.
  2. Download the latest version of the plugin as a .zip or tar.gz file.

Step 2: Enable Developer Mode in Your Browser

For Google Chrome/Chromium-Based Browsers:

  1. Open your browser and navigate to chrome://extensions/. or go to settings -> extentions
  2. Toggle the Developer Mode switch in the top-right corner to enable it.

For Microsoft Edge:

  1. Open your browser and navigate to edge://extensions/.
  2. Toggle the Developer Mode switch in the bottom-left corner to enable it.

Step 3: Extract the Plugin Files

  1. Locate the downloaded .zip or tar.gz file on your computer.
  2. Extract the contents of the .zip file to a folder using your preferred file extraction tool (e.g., WinRAR, 7-Zip, or the built-in extractor in your OS).

Step 4: Load the Plugin into Your Browser

  1. Go back to the Extensions page in your browser (chrome://extensions/ or edge://extensions/).
  2. Click on the Load unpacked button.
  3. Select the folder where you extracted the plugin files.

Using Tusk Act 2

  1. Once installed, the Tusk Act 2 plugin will appear as a sidebar icon in your browser.
  2. Click the icon to activate the sidebar.
  3. Browse any website as usual. With your permission, the plugin will extract and process relevant data to assist you contextually.
  4. Use the settings to customize options like the whitelist/blacklist feature for privacy.

Notes and Best Practices

  • Ensure you are using a supported browser with Manifest V3 compatibility.
  • Only grant permissions to trusted websites to ensure privacy.
  • Use the whitelist/blacklist feature to control data extraction for specific websites.

Troubleshooting

  • Plugin Not Loading: Ensure Developer Mode is enabled and that you selected the correct folder during the "Load unpacked" step.
  • Missing Sidebar Icon: Restart your browser or check the extensions list to ensure the plugin is active.
  • Errors During Use: Report any issues via the GitHub Issues page.
