Google Account Sync - Delete Collection ( HTTP 404) Error

Hello Team,

I have sync up my gmail account in DAVx5 application and sync my gmail account.

In CardDAV , I have used following option

Click on menu button right to Address Book switch button -> Delete Collection option.

Dialog will appear

Are you sure?
This address book and all its data will be removed permanently.

Select the check box and press ok - HTTP 404

Hello,

In your case, the server (Gmail in your case) does not allow to delete the address book.

Why do you want to do that? But it doesn't matter anyway because it's not possible with your server.

Also, the server won't allow to create new address books and send error 400 in that case.

@rfc2822 Thank you for the reply.

But in some cases when I sync other accounts like Zoho, then these options like Delete collection or create new address book not visible under menu buttons.

used the following link to create the account with Zoho and sync on DAVx5

So, can we assume that Delete collection and Create Address book options are not available with Zoho account also. If this is the case then it should not show the options with Google accounts also.

When it's clear that it won't work, DAVx5 wont show it.

When its not clear and it may work, DAVx5 shows the option. This does not mean that the server will actually accept those requests.

@rfc2822 Very well explained. Thanks for your response. Actually, I am new to this app and working on this DAVx5 application because it is required in my work.

I am looking out for some servers where I can use options like login with email and advance login. Can you suggest me few servers where I can use Login with Email and Advance login options?
