To secure the account credentials in the exported data, the export process could include encryption of the data with a password. This password would be required when importing. |

This would be really helpful. |

#26 (importing from a QR code) could be one way forward: Let DAVx5 "export" a QR code for the one account at least? Also it might be a good idea to require a "device authentication" before exporting the passwords (so that random people getting your phone in unlocked state can't get the passwords). |

Any plans to go on with this? If you have many accounts with many calendars it is pain in the *** to add them all again on a new phone. I think an export/import function for settings is a must have. |

This is definitely a function that will be implemented, and it's on our plans. However, we still have some work to do with more priority before adding this, so I can't give an ETA. Just be a bit patient, it will arrive 😄 |

Yes or just make it that restoring backups works |

May I ask if there is some progress for exporting and importing the configuration? |

We know, this is being asked for for ages... It is very complicated, for various reasons. Some are: We need to make an abstraction layer between the system and DAVx5 where DAVx5 could re-create accounts on the fly on import. Also we need to store the Base URL separately that is entered by the user. Because right now we only store the relevant real resource URLs. The first part is very hard. But as a small help - maybe try to save the URL+username as a QR code and at a later time scan it to setup DAVx5 again easily? It looks like:
More information: https://manual.davx5.com/integration.html#implicit-intent A real settings export/import will come but I have no idea when... We have so many things right now to work on. |

The introduction of the ability to log in to an account using a QR code or adb command has made the process of setting up DAVx⁵ on a new device extremely easy. But even so, I still have to choose after logging in which calendars and address books I will sync, which will be read-only, I have to change the sync intervals in the account settings, etc. I understand that implementing a backup function for the entire account is not a trivial matter for many reasons. But before you finalize this complexity, perhaps you would consider exporting the account settings to a text file which could be imported as soon as you log into the account. For this it is not necessary to create an abstraction layer between the system and the application, and it would certainly make it easier for users to use DAVx⁵. |

DAVx⁵:
Nextcloud (if you use):
You can do the same thing by scanning a QR code, but you probably already know that. |

Is there an option / possibility / plan to add option to export settings and accounts configuration? I'm aware that those are mostly username/password but when moving devices it would be easier to simply export configuration of couple of accounts and then import it on new device (yes, with passwords, those can be safely moved locally using computer)
