Allow for searching and merging duplicates

Hey,

The Google Contacts app offers this features, but it seem to only do so for contacts stored with Google Contacts (the service/webapp).

I guess this is a server-interaction-related action, so it would be nice to have it available on the DAVx apps without resorting to install another Contacts app (I don't think any offers this anyways).

Being able to merge contacts, without an automatic search for duplicates would be nice as a starting point.

Thank you for the idea. We know the need for this, but merging/duplicate handling is a pretty complex topic which we currently do not have the possibility to do in DAVx5. So I'm not seeing this anytime soon in our app. Sorry!

What's in the scope of DAVx5 would be a data migration tool to handle/move data between accounts. This in an early concept stage right now. Maybe at a later time this tool could be extended to allow merging operations - but that is in a far future.
