Yahoo contacts and calendar sync working

This is just an FYI for anyone wanting to sync their Yahoo calendars and contacts. It does still work, I was recently able to get both set up on a new Android phone. Of course, please note that the DAVx website advises that contact syncing is no longer supported by Yahoo so just keep this in mind.

Creating an app specific password in my Yahoo account on the web worked without any difficulties (as of August 2024). When adding an account in DAVx, choose the e-mail and password login option. From memory, DAVX defaulted to syncing calendars only and I had to add a second account to sync contacts separately. If/when given the option to specify the address/URL, use the following:

Calendars base URL:
https://caldav.calendar.yahoo.com/

Contacts base URL:
https://carddav.address.yahoo.com/

It does work sometimes, but then all of a sudden stops working, or some functions do not work at all, that's why we deprecated them. Yahoo doesn't seem to care about them also, so we really can't do much on our side if they don't want to fix the bugs on the servers. Nevertheless, if it's working for you, great! 😄
