I've definitely thought about ordering a Teensy 4 and attempting this... pld has an experimental branch that sounds like a big step toward T4 support |

Teensy 4 is much more available than Teensy 3.2 and that will probably be the case for a while. Is it reasonable to port Benisphere to Teensy 4? I know the old O-C firmware was dependent on a specific version of Arduino let alone a different CPU so maybe this is not practical but Squares and Circles runs on the O-C hardware by dropping in a Teensy 4 so the hardware is compatible.
I am super impressed by the 4 and 4.1 - incredibly fast microcontrollers with way more memory which would allow more applets and more sophisticated applets like different drum voices for Bug Crack. I'm surprised so may projects are still using Teensy 3.2 when the Teensy 4 is so much more capable, available and pretty much the same price.
