We need to look carefully and decide how to change the architecture to support 3D and slab Cartesian coordinates.

• Write a Hamiltonian class for Cartesian coordinates?
• Have the beam tracing part be able to take different coordinate systems, then convert to Cartesian for post-processing? Or define a metric tensor and use that for post-processing?
