Describe the Issue
We want to inform POs and teams about the account deletion process

Additional Context
Add any other context, attachments or screenshots

Acceptance Criteria

  • Create a space on the public cloud website containing information about project set closure
  • Update the close project set modal language to include preventative information
  • Delete button prompt to email product owners/ technical leads linking account deletion documentation

Hi @MaxWardle I am unable to edit the ticket, can you please update it for the following:

We want to inform POs and teams about the account deletion process and reduce the amount of emails pertaining the subject.

Additional Context
Add any other context, attachments or screenshots

Acceptance Criteria

[ ] Create a space on the public cloud website containing information about project set closure
[ ] Update the close project set modal language to include preventative informationconfirm delete request.png

[ ] Add a checkbox to the project deletion pop-up in the Registry – “I confirm that I reviewed the important information pertaining to the project deletion and account closure page on the public cloud website"

The link above should and open in a new window, so that users have a chance to review the considerations below before they click the delete button.

Forgot to add the following:

  • Pilar and @abibat-adesina will work on the content of the page, and publishing on Wordpress (digital.gov.bc.ca)

  • Pilar and @abibat-adesina will work on the content of the pop-up message including the message for the checkbox and placement

  • Pilar and @abibat-adesina will work on the email draft sent after the delete button is pressed

  • After all of this is completed, it will be passed on to @okanji and @Kolezhanchik for implementation on the Product Registry and email

Account deletion email template to be sent to Product owner and Technical Lead

Dear [Product owner's name] and [Technical lead's name],

We hope this message finds you well.

This is to confirm that the process to delete your project in AWS and initiate account closure has been successfully initiated. We appreciate your prompt action in following the steps outlined in our Product Registry.

As a reminder, please keep the following important information in mind also accessible through our website:

  • The deletion process may take up to 5 business days to complete
  • After deletion, your account will be in post-closure status for 90 days, following AWS policy
  • During this 90-day period, you may still incur charges and receive weekly billing email notifications
  • After 90 days, you won’t receive weekly notifications, but expect a final quarterly bill for any closed project sets within that quarter
  • AWS limits the number of projects we can close each month. If the quota is exceeded for the current month, your deletion request may be queued until the next month, and charges will continue during that time

If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to follow up about the status of your project deletion and account closure request via email at [email protected].
