when I ever tri to down load Qctools it gave this msg :
E: Could not open lock file /var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend - open (13: Permission denied)
E: Unable to acquire the dpkg frontend lock (/var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend), are you root?
I typed :
brew install qctools
apt-get install qctools
whay mistake i did

Have you tried the relevant installers here?

For your command lines though, seems like you need to preface your commands
with “sudo” but maybe try the installer route instead?
