Schema.xml

I'm having great difficulty getting the SOLR 9.2.1 running from Backdrop, with error message being about the schema.xml being invalid.

I have followed this: https://www.drupal.org/project/search_api_solr/issues/3365659
and used the schema.xml from the patch there, but without any difference, the module tells me:
You are using an incompatible schema.xml configuration file. Please follow the instructions in the handbook for setting up Solr.
Which of course contains instructions dealing with SOLR<=7, so not very helpful. Is there a specific schema.xml I should be trying for BD?

Did you ever figure this out? I need to get Solr working here as well.
