As mentioned at #27 it would be great to create a search page with views. Following https://www.drupal.org/docs/7/modules/search-api/getting-started/search-forms-and-results-pages/search-api-views/creating-a it would be needed to have the rendered entity style output available.

It would be great I agree. Too bad no one is around to take on that time consuming job.
