We’re using Discussions as a place to track changes in state law, and map them into FHIR. It's a glorified link list and citations section.

• DO: Share links for bills, state laws, court rulings, and policy actions.
• DO: Leave the politics to other forums, please. There will be time enough for that elsewhere.
• Keep commentary brief; focused to the present and what is.
• Discussion around what should be or ought to be or could be will likely be removed.
• This project is focused on situational awareness, amidst rapidly changing state laws.
• This project exists to model state laws using Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR).
• Ideally, we want to show how this functionality could be useful to Health Information Exchanges (HIE) and Qualified Health Information Networks (QHIN).
• Discussion around future topics has been ongoing for awhile now. Any one topic map is relatively easy to make. The difficulties arise with how they accumulate, keeping them updated, who distributes/uses them, etc.
• Want a new topic tracked? Sure.

  • model the state law, court ruling, or policy change as a FHIR Consent provision.
  • add to the existing 50 state Consent files.
  • generate a new dataset of 50 Locations
  • convert to GeoJson

  • create pull-request from your repo to main
  • we'll do a review and quality control check
