Python noob here - I see I can build this repository locally, but how would I consume automerge or automerge_backend in an existing Python python? Do I need to clone the source locally, run the "build" steps, and then somehow link my Python project to the output of the previous steps?
Any pointers would likely unblock me. Thank you :)

install rust with rustup so you get a recent version (current stable is fine), you may need to update the automerge dep in cargo.toml to current version (right now 0.5.11). then just pip install . and its a normal python library
