Hanging system by script

Hello!
I faced trouble with rps. if I open non modal window and Revit is for example in selecting mode, script starts its executing but in this case I cant finish selection and script can't do its work.
The only solution I found is finish work of application from task manager (And I think it's not very good - I lose all work sinse last saving)
Is there any other "good" way to prevent hanging Revit?
Maybe there is the way to determing that Revit isn't ready to execute rps script.
Is there other good way to go on the work without breaking the task from task manager?
