Thanks...

after hours of trying to get the docker running, finally i was able to create an account.
I got the Android App from F-Droid somehow connected - i was already a bit shocked that anki-web seems to be more or less "hardcoded". Well not really, but custom server does not really seem to be appreciated....

Then i tried to get the desktop app working. installed 2.1.15 from Linux Mint repos - no option to setup server... i spare you the 30 minute frustrated search and i finally found out there was a plugin/Addon for that... And then i realize it is not supported. Not even by the 800MB downloaded flathub version which is almost the latest...

Really... after all the effort i already put into this - and i'm not yet even sure if i want to really use it - i would change the python code, but i did not yet really find out what to do with it once i did this... so... sorry for all the long text... I'd really appreciate being able to use this plugin or any other working way of using my custom Anki-sync server. The initial hint with the environment variable and the 3 lines .py code do not seem to work :(
