Outlook uses the custom X-MICROSOFT-CDO-BUSYSTATUS property, which is unsupported by other software such as Thunderbird. Mapping X-MICROSOFT-CDO-BUSYSTATUS to STATUS would allow to view the status set in Outlook in other programs and vice versa.
