Hi,

First, your work and website are great works, thanks!

One question, I find the FER and BER results on your website are all from the first LDPC code, but I find another one named ALT version. So what is the difference between 10GBPS-ETHERNET_1723_2048 and 10GBPS-ETHERNET_ALT_1723_2048?

Thanks.

Hi @zqcawzs,

We appreciate if you like our work, you're welcome :-).

The two files are almost equivalent it is the same code but the sequencing of the check nodes is different, this can have a positive or negative impact on the decoding performance for BP layered decoders for instance.

I hope it helps.

Hi, @kouchy

Thanks for your reply!
One more question, I can only find the first LDPC code in the IEEE standard. So where can I find the second version in any official documents?

Thanks.

Hi @zqcawzs,

To be honest I don't remember where the ALT file come from. Please do not use this version if you have any doubts.

Best regards.
