The Adapt team is very pleased to announce that the upcoming authoring tool v1.0.0 release has now entered the beta testing phase!
For more technical detail on what this release encompasses, see this page.
What it is ✔️
A feature-complete representation of the final v1.0.0 release; we have now officially called a code freeze for v1.0.0, which signifies that there will be no feature or API changes between this point and the final release. What we will be doing however, is fixing lots of bugs!
What it isn't ❌
Production ready. Although the 'beta' release marks a significant step forwards in terms of stability and reliablility and is ready for user testing, the app should definitely not be considered bug-free (in fact we already have a number of known bugs logged and ready for fixing). Therefore, it is not suitable for testing in production environments as there is always a risk of crashes and/or data corruption/loss.
What's next
We will now carry out testing & bug-fixing cycles until we're satisfied that the app is suitably battle-worn to be released. If we deem it necessary, we may release further iterations of beta releases (
beta.2
and so on). This is where we need your help! :announce:Call to arms 💪
We now need as many testers as we can get to put the app to the sword in any (reasonable) way you can think of: individual 'standalone' installs, live staging environments, even real-world user testing (please be aware that this release does contain bugs and should not be used in production environments).
If you want to get involved, but you're not sure how, please introduce yourself on gitter.im/server-refactor and we'll gladly help!
