The images explore rising sea levels caused by global warming and its expected impact on Miami and South Florida. Each inkjet print presents two photographic images (26 x 39 cm each) comprised of a documentary view of a site in Florida paired with the same image as a composite photograph with an ocean water level applied to the lower portion of it. Identified sites in Miami include the Miami Design District, Port of Miami, and the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in the Coconut Grove neighborhood. Identified sites in South Florida include Dania Beach, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Key West, Marathon, and Miami Beach.

<p>Karen Halverson is a documentary landscape photographer. Born in Syracuse, New York, Halverson received a Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University and Masters of Arts from Brandeis University and Columbia University. In 1975, she made her first photographic project, which documented the Garment District in New York City. Much of her work documents the tension between the natural and cultural landscapes of the American West. She is the author of <title>
