Display doesn't or just sporadically respond when eth0 is down #65
Comments
I haven’t personally noticed this on RPi4 + Waveshare 1.44” LCD display and buttons HAT. Unfortunately, I don’t have an RPi3 to test. I think officially we don’t plan to support RPi3, but considering the industry-wide component shortages, we will see if we can help you. If you could collect Front Panel Menu System (FPMS) service log, that might help us root cause it: @joshschmelzle have you spotted anything like this on your RPi3? |
I haven't noticed this on mine, but will do some more testing to see if I can reproduce. |
I can't find anything revealing in the log Log:
|
I was able to reproduce the observation on my RPi 3b+. Since the logging doesn't reveal anything, further investigation would be needed for an explanation. I am guessing it has to do with the logic to refresh infos on the Home Screen taking longer on RPi3b+ than RPi4 or CM4. It's at least usable after the screen responds after a few short moments, but, yes, annoying. And only seems to occur when there is no active Ethernet uplink. |
Hi,
first: fpms now works with my 1.44 inch lcd thanks for that!
But I found out that when the ethernet interface is down the display doesn't respond or just sporadically.
I got it running on a Raspi 3b.
I added a Video which shows the issue:
