Create top level NDI folder on MATLAB's userpath

NDI saves some folders and files directly to the user path, and it might be better to group them in an NDI top-level folder

Are you talking about

[userpath '/Documents/NDI'] ?

I was trying to think of a place to put logs and preferences that wouldn't necessary get replaced if one upgraded or reinstalled the software. I don't know if there is a great place in Matlab to put these things.

Do you think it's better to put them in

[NDI_root '/Documents/' ] etc?

Yes, sorry for not being more specific.

In the userpath, I have the following folders:

Documents
Preferences
tools

Since all of these are related to the installation of NDI I thought it might be good to place them in a top level folder called NDI. I think placing them on the userpath is the right choice, although maybe preferences can be saved to the prefdir instead. Practically, I think the only difference of using prefdir and user path is that there is one prefdir location for each release of MATLAB, so users with multiple different MATLAB releases on their system can have separate preferences for each release.
