Happy to Present but Don't Yet Have a Topic #24
Comments
Hey Kimbo 👋 My name is Sean and I run the SLC JS Learners' group. We have a presentational meetup the 3rd Tuesday each month, immediately before the UtahJS meetup. I normally try to limit our presentations to code-along and vanilla tech (i.e. no libraries, frameworks, etc.). That said, I think a lot of learners would love to have a fellow learner discussing how she decided (a) on a specific app to develop, (b) what tech to build it in, and (c) how she is fitting development of it in around an obviously challenging schedule! I've already got a presentation lined up for next week, but I don't have anything slated for Nov 19th (which will likely be a low turn-out as it's Thanksgiving week), Dec 17th, or Jan 21st. So, if you're interested in presenting at the one of these meetups, please let me know which one works best for you and your schedule! Also, I had to say my final goodbye to my last little dachshund a bit over a year ago. Your Mirabelle reminds me a lot of her. Her full name was Princess Chocolate Chip Cookie Monster; she was a wonderful double-dapple, miniature dachshund who had perfected the fine art of cuddling and giving love-filled kisses. ~sean |
I absolutely love your puppers name!!!! You’ll have to show me pictures
sometime! I think I wrote all of nuggets (Mirabelle’s) nick names at
one point. It was extensive.
Sign me up for the December 17th!
I’d absolutely love to do that! I’ll give you a more clear presentation
agenda as we get closer.

@KimboAnn21 - Awesome! You should have edit rights to the Dec meetup page. I tentatively listed your presentation as, "Selecting && Building a Portfolio Project as a time-constrained Junior Dev" - please change it as you see fit! And yes, we'll definitely have to share pupper pictures! :-) |
Hello,
I am a new full stack developer. I am happy to present a topic but do not have ideas at the moment. I am still building my portfolio and have a blog about learning to code during chemo, so I could easily talk about that process and perseverance. I could talk about why I think you should learn on your own and NOT spend the money on a boot camp? I could talk about blogging? Resumes? I'm working on a 3d rubik's cube app (for my son who loves solving cubes) using three.js and canvas but it is not complete. My blog is: kimbolimbo.design I was a professional musician for many years so I absolutely don't mind speaking.
