SDF scale parameter meaning？

I'm looking at the code and I noticed a scale parameter for the sdf network. I saw that it is used to upscale the input of the sdf and then to rescale the output after the query.
I would like to kindly ask what is the idea behind this feature and what is its incidence in the results.

I have the same question as question #52, and what is the relation between the 'scale' in sdf and the 'scale_mat_scale' in dataset
