Objective

Transition to a standardized encoding format to support a wider range of languages and ensure compatibility with in-game control codes and formatting.

Details

  • Replace the current string encoding system with Unicode support.
  • Preserve in-game control codes and formatting during the transition.
  • Ensure the new encoding system can handle non-Latin scripts and special characters.
  • Test the system with various languages, including those with complex scripts.

Acceptance Criteria

  • All in-game strings are encoded in a standardized Unicode format.
  • Control codes and formatting are fully preserved.
  • Non-Latin scripts and special characters render correctly without errors.
  • Performance is not negatively impacted by the encoding overhaul.

Deliverable

A fully functional string encoding system using Unicode, tested and optimized for multilingual support.
