I can't reproduce. are you sure you're running with -it like in the README?

$ docker run --detach --name postgres postgres
$ docker run -it --rm --link postgres nosamanuel/blockade postgres 5433 
Waiting for postgres...
Waiting for postgres...
Waiting for postgres...
^C%  
$
