New way to connect for printers with the x1plus firmware #8108

If you really want to update to the new firmware and still use OrcaSlicer the way you did before, you can enable Developer Mode in LAN mode and connect locally. To use remotely, I have a home media server with Tailscale installed and configured as a subnet router. No I'm on my laptop away from home, I can just ensure Tailscale is on and navigate to the same IP on my home network to get to the printer. On iOS, there's an app called BambuCompanion that allows all the same accesses as the Bambu Handy app, plus direct access to the SD card to add/delete/etc files. So I can turn on Tailscale and then the app works as if I'm on the same wifi. Having Tailscale directly on the printer through X1Plus would be slightly easier, since you wouldn't need another device constantly active on Tailscale just to host the route, but otherwise no difference. I've been using X1Plus for a week or so now and find it to be pretty cool. Hope that project flourishes!! |

That would be great if they add Tailscale support to the firmware. I also have POE surveillance cameras that I would like to get on a VPN. It would be great if I could kill both birds with one stone. |

at the light of the firmware debacle with Bambulab, would be possible to completely bypass the current way to connect the printer to orca slicer?
expecially for remote access via vpn
I know that the guys @X1Plus are working to add tailscale support directly in the printer
sorry I'm not a programmer, maybe is a dumb thing what I'm asking....
