what happens when i do it like this

then comes

[FATAL] Missing config.json! Run "npm run generate-config " (Parameter ConfDir is optional) to generate it

when i insert the config file from the generatedt the bot token is wrong although it is 100% correct

I would also like to point out that the installation help at the bottom of github is complete nonsense because half of it is missing

Please follow the Installation-Instructions carefully. You need to run npm run generate-config to install dependencies required for the configuration generation. If you don't want to worry about setup and configuration, we recommend using SCNX.

No, you should not edit config example files at all. Please follow the instructions in the README.md to learn about configuring this bot

there are the following points

Clone this repo
Run npm ci
Run npm run generate-config
Replace your token in the config/config.json file.
Start the bot with npm start
The bot will now generate a modules.json and a strings.json file in your configuration directory. You can change them.

Yeah, but you are not following them. You are editing a configuration-example-file, not config/config.json.
If you want to learn what these config example files are for, please read the readme (once again) or just edit the config file instead of the example file, as described in the very instructions you pasted.
As mentioned, the config.json that gets generated is missing it's content due to a bug. Because of this, you can either wait for a bug-fix from our staff or create the file manually, for which you need the config-example files (you can read more about this in the readme).
