I suggest that to fight against other pokemon master NPCs something simple like approaching them and that they always let you trade, but if you want to fight, crouch down and then right click to get a message asking if you want to fight with "yes or no" options. that can be selected in the same chat

And then a message appears saying "take out your pokemons" and a second message appears to indicate that if they are ready or instead some kind of short countdown
