My hub seems to be running 233.364 and when doing the initial cloud setup using "pethublocal setup" it fails with an "list index out of range" error and I'm assuming the new firmware has locked me out?

I do have a second hub, unopened in it's original box, never used. Is there a way I can make this hub work without it getting upgraded to the latest version so that I can have this one working with pethublocal?

The new firmware has locked everything out.

The only option will be to get a pickit and flash the old firmware onto the hub.

But I think the esp32 solution will be better longer term.

Would you be willing to talk me through the process for flashing older firmware onto the hub?
I could document the process and make it accessible for other latecomers to the pethublocal party?

These days its pretty easy to explain: it cannot be done

Even with the pickit?

I think @plambrechtsen suggested that it might be possible, but he's essentially gone. IIRC, someone else tried as well and was unable to get it to work. There should be details in another issue here, if memory serves.

I need to pick up on this question as I am unsure whether the responses referred to the specific question. Is it possible to setup an old hub with an old firmware only with the pethublocal connection? My understanding is no because the hub credentials are pulled from the cloud.

For me it happened what I tried to avoid for over a year now. For some reasons my router reset all network settings and the hub was exposed to the internet. It was working so well....

As I responded on the other issue. Don't plug it into the internet if it hasn't been plugged in before. Run it in an isolated network and check the firmware version and if the bootloader is still the old version I might be able to help if you email me directly.
