Unable to install Pathvision on Linux

Hello,
I have followed the download and installation guidelines available on the Pathvisio > Downloads page.

After downloading and uncompressing the '.tar' file, I am getting an error while trying to execute the 'pathvisio.jar' file.
Attached below is an image of the error message displayed.

Kindly help me understand what is wrong and how this can be resolved.

Hi @anoksha24 , thank you for contacting us! I would like to reffer you to the main PV developer, @mkutmon for further help (since I haven't seen this issue before).

If you are familiar with using Linux, you could try to build PathVisio from GitHub using ant (see the REAME)

@anoksha24, are you running the jar with Java 8? It cannot be run with newer Java releases. The error message suggests a Java version mismatch.
