Hello @instivestigate I don't have a Mac device to test this on so I am unable to replicate your issue. I would like some more details so we can help you troubleshoot.

  1. You say "Everything disappears mid project". Please expand on this:
    a. Did you create a new project and saved it?
    b. When you say everything disappears, do you mean all the clips on the timeline, or the imported files in the "Project Files" tab? or both? We need to better understand what is going on here.

  2. Does OpenShot close/crash or does the project just disappear?

  3. Do you get any messages?

Please give this a try:

  1. Start Openshot.
  2. From the Emoji tab, drag a few emojis onto Track 4.
  3. Select File | Save Project. Navigate to a folder of your choice and give name it Test01. Did this work?
  4. If step 3 worked, then import a few of your files you want to work with.
  5. Now drag those files onto Track 5. You still should have the emojis on Track 4.
  6. Save the project. Did this work?
  7. If step 6 worked, then close OpenShot. Restart it and open Test01 project.

If at any point you experienced the crash please let us know which step and what were you doing at that time.

If everything worked, start a new project and import your files, one at a time, saving the project, doing some edits, and saving again.

To get better logs please do this:

  1. Start OpenShot.
  2. Go to Edit | Preferences | Debug tab and Enable "Debug Mode (Verbose).
  3. Close OpenShot.
  4. Go to ~/home/.openshot_qt folder and delete the *.log files.
  5. Start OpenShot and perform the steps that cause OpenShot crash.
  6. Now share those log files here.

The log file indicates an issue finding a file while previewing:
Couldn't find current file for preview window

Otherwise, I don't see any obvious issues in the log files. If possible, I would love to see a video of this issue, which sometimes reveals things which are hard to notice. If you can, please try and attach a screencast or video of your screen, while OpenShot is experiencing this issue. Thanks!
