BTC transaction costs are now ensured through "Min Price", on each individual listing.

The best approach would be to require a "Minimum order size", a minimum BTC value each order should reach. This would allow sellers to publish listings that cost less than the current minimum price (0.0005 BTC), like 0.0001 BTC, or even less.

For these extremely cheap items, a new "Min Quantity" field on listing options would be useful, which would set a minimum number of items of that listing that should be bought on each order.

That's an interesting idea. We'd need to add a minimum quantity field to the backend as well.

I posted this a while back and I still feel this is the best approach to fix the problem.
