CodinGoat
Opening in September 2024, CodinGoat will be an IT school in the campaign « to train ethical IT developers [...] far from the chimeras of the urban start-up world ». A pedagogy with project based learning, gamification, reflexive and collaborative learning, real world project with the nearby ecosystem and open source being one value of their manifesto.
A project supported by people who contributed to shape 42 curriculum (in 2015) with a number of improvements through criticisms of the pedagogical model, with another school in Vietnam created in the meantime.
Economic Models in Open Education
This meeting is mainly following one question: will their pedagogical content be open source/open educational resources ?
Where the answer for now is no, « this [question] highlights the 'open source' limit of [their] approach. ». The actual intent is to split the strategy in 2, documentation of the process would be open source where the pedagogical content itself would be closed.
There is this intent to go open source with a certain lack of understanding, starting with open business models for open source and open education.
The idea of this meeting would be to start from the CodinGoat project to discuss open education, money around it, and open models education for an engaged IT school more broadly to fuel our collective thinking on it. Economical model in open education may be of interest for some other players.
With this orientation, they may find some interest in open models education for both the training of their students and the development of the project.
