Test the SRW (with RRFS) container #5
Comments
Eddie Snyder commented: As mentioned in https://jira.epic.oarcloud.noaa.gov/browse/AUS-536, the RRFS components are still being merged into the SRW App. So a true test of the RRFS capabilities cannot be done at this time. However, we can prep the container to run the RRFS config yaml. A [Google doc|https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1v-FbZmK91OSSyHFgl1UnwrqlSRjq8qfyh8SbxNbp0aQ/edit?usp=sharing] was created to track which data we will need to run this experiment. Currently retrieving the data. |
Eddie Snyder commented: Currently I'm trying to run an experiment with [this version|https://hub.docker.com/layers/noaaepic/ubuntu20.04-intel-ue-rrfs/tmptest/images/sha256-b303f3384327701cd9b6a5f104877d77814c14ec71d5aa92d998d0b98c2c87a4?context=explore] of the rrfs container. It is failing to run the make_grid executable. There are some notable things that need to be added to the docker image: change permissions on the stage-srw.sh, add the case fv3gfs model data (which is tracked [here)|https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1v-FbZmK91OSSyHFgl1UnwrqlSRjq8qfyh8SbxNbp0aQ/edit?usp=sharing] and pregen executable, which is also found in the previous link, to platforms that need it. |
Eddie Snyder commented: Experiment is now failing in the run_fcst step. The script doesn't have permissions to open up fix files, even though the permissions are fine and you can 'stat' the fix files from within the container. A number of changes are needed to make the experiment run in the container. Some RRFS library paths and executable paths need to be exported during the container build step or in the stage-srw.sh script. Platforms that will be support the container will also need to have the machine file updated. |
