Using community-agreed standards for annotating models, protocols and data will facilitate links to other resources, such as omics databases as models begin to investigate genetic causes for variability, enabling richer exploration of the sources of observed model behaviours. Ontology-based search and filtering of models, protocols and data in the Web Lab will keep the resource manageable as it grows.
