MetaMask is proud to be sponsoring FarHack, May 3-5 2024! Read on to learn about our bounties and how to get started building with MetaMask Snaps and Farcaster:
Bounties
We have two bounties, 500 USDC each, for integrating Farcaster data (and optionally enabling users to post to Farcaster) into MetaMask with MetaMask Snaps in a useful and meaningful way. Projects that qualify for this bounty will be in the "Farcaster Clients" track at FarHack. Have a look at the example projects below to learn how this is possible.
Getting started with Snaps
The MetaMask Snaps Documentation includes getting started guides, tutorials, detailed explanations of features, best practices, and references to guide you as you build your Snap. There are also additional tools that will help you on your journey:
Integrating Farcaster with MetaMask
Our team has built multiple example projects to help you get started. You can fork these or just use them for inspiration:
You can install and try each Snap from the website and also navigate to the GitHub repository to see how they were built.
Caveats
Please note that Snaps only work on MetaMask extension, not mobile.
Snaps that use features like network access need to be allowlisted by our team before they can be installed by users on MetaMask stable. Anyone can install your Snap on MetaMask Flask. If you would like to have your Snap allowlisted, just reach out to us after the hackathon!
