Can I use an SVG file as an image

Great package for Node! Thank you very much! PNG and JPG files work great when I include a logo inside the QR code (I create a buffer from base64 and pass it as the image property). However, I am wondering if it is possible to do the same with SVG files. I tried passing it in a buffer, using a data URI, and even including it in an tag, but I received an error: "Missing Source URL." Is there any way to make this work with SVG files? I would appreciate any help or answer if it is even possible what i wanna do with SVG.
