Support for Script Arguments

I have a script that we run with each release. Currently we have to update this script prior to each release. We would like to automate this by passing an argument to the script so it can assign it to a variable and use it to update a record in the database. Currently your extension does not support passing of arguments to a script. Any chance this could be added?
