It's nearly impossible to join any real server as a slot data is very often transmitted with an optional NBT. I will try to do this if you assign me to this issue, but it's a bad idea anyway.

NBT parsing is important enough to assign it to more experienced developer.

Actually, I'm junior-dev too, so, I don't think that you can really make things worse.
