Consoles and Command Line Interface

AWS Consoles

You may want to access areas of the AWS User Interface through your browser to gather information or validate that a step completed as expected. Some areas of interest are:

• IAM dashboard
• EC2 web console
• S3 web console
• EFS web console
• CloudFormation web console

These pages require a login. Accessing them when not logged in will redirect you to AWS standard login page. Some institutions have their own login page. Ask you AWS Administrator for more information on how to login to AWS under your institution's account.

AWS Command Line Interface (CLI)

• Installing or updating the latest version of the AWS CLI

You will need access to the AWS CLI for some of the setup steps. Links to specific documentation will be in the instructions where they are used. You will need to install the latest CLI before proceeding.

You can check the current installed version of the AWS CLI using aws --version.
