I want to simulate schottky diode, is it possible to define depletion thickness at one of the contact? |

Hi @rajxabc, we have never tried this ourselves, but you can find a tutorial on simulating the depletion thickness at a pn-junction in the tutorial. Note that we currently cannot simulate realistic pulses resulting from undepleted detectors (see issue #406), I would be happy to provide guidance and assistance if you want to try using SolidStateDetectors for your simulations. |

Hi @rajxabc,
we have never tried this ourselves, but you can find a tutorial on simulating the depletion thickness at a pn-junction in the tutorial.
You could provide an impurity density of your semiconductor and a bias voltage applied to the contacts that ends up giving you the depletion thickness you would like to have.
Note that we currently cannot simulate realistic pulses resulting from undepleted detectors (see issue #406),
but there are some papers and references in that issue that would explain how to do it in principle.
I would be happy to provide guidance and assistance if you want to try using SolidStateDetectors for your simulations.
And let's see: maybe your inquiry might end…
