Discussion

• Re-establishing our context and review miro dataflow in detail
• Spent most of the meeting establishing the context of what we are trying to do in discussion with Google Cloud, and discussed the many problems with obtaining real time information - along the lines of Issues How can energy data collection and reporting be implemented by a cloud provider? #4 and Purchased Renewable Energy is not settled for a year #8
  • Decide if the purple notes are in the right place - added Redfish IPMI interface to RAPL note
  • Research the specifics and issues around each schema - ran out of time this week.

The Miro dataflow primarily shows how this can be done in a datacenter or using cloud billing data 
and approximations, so part of the discussion of each schema (over the coming weeks) will cover 
the issues around getting this data in the cloud. We will then define new schemas to patch over 
the difference between what can be done in the datacenter vs. what is needed in the cloud.

Adrian reviews the Miro dataflow with the Proj members.

Hi @adrianco @seanmcilroy29 @PindyBhullar I was hoping to discuss #7 at the next meeting but I can't attend because I'm giving a talk at the Cloud Native Barcelona meetup.

I think having a mapping from cloud region to grid TSO would be useful but I'm not sure its in scope for this project?

Feel free to discuss without me but if you want to postpone I'll be at the following meeting.

I think this is in scope, it's a key part of the metadata that the schema needs to include.
