Feature Request: Faster and more precise GPS #103
Comments
Have you set a STUN server? |
I guess you mean a SUPL server, is that correct? I set this to "supl.grapheneos.org". Still takes longer than it used to on my android phone and inside a house or a car sometimes does not work at all. |
Yes sorry. I meant SUPL. I've been told different SUPL servers have different performance. Dare I say it the Google one performs well. |
Ah ok, I'll try to find a different one. I went away from Android amongst others to completely get away from Google, so that's not an option for me (especially for location data), but maybe I'll find another one. But anyways, I think using extra data for location finding (e.g. wifis) is in any way helpful - not only to make location finding quicker but also to make it more reliable indoors. And apparently beacondb is a pretty large database for these now. |
right now we don't have an alternative to androids fused locations, its being worked on in geoclue but nothing ready yet |
It would be nice if GPS was more quick and precise by the use of wifi and cell tower triangulation, using something like beacondb.
