Can't open website in Safari because of Invalid character '\u001f' #553

When trying to open the self hosted site, Safari requests the login URL, but then the page stays blank.

The console shows

Invalid character '\u001f'

and upon searching on the web, this seems to be the same problem that has been fixed in
getsentry/self-hosted#2285

I don't have access to any apple devices, so I can't provide support for Safari. PRs welcome.
