We use Google Analytics to collect stats on CollecTF usage. Google Analytics has way more features than we need but we can still use it more effectively. Here are some ideas:

  • Documentation on what we are monitoring.
  • Google analytics was set on my UMBC account. Find a way to share it with the CollecTF team.
  • Google Analytics has a lot of nice reporting features. For example, by customizing it, we can collect stats on things like
    • number of users visiting each page. If we have different URLs for browse pages, we can also see which TF/species people mostly look at (see also CollecTF search visibility #12).
    • source. what search terms people use to visit a page on CollecTF. We can also try to promote CollecTF on Twitter, etc. to increase its visibility.

We definitively need to look a the account binding. The page-itemized access would be interesting to analyze. Also, maybe deploying a widget that shows access in the main page.
