Though this might not be very relevant to vgpu unlock, kinda want to discuss the performance issue when running vgpu in a proxmox vm.
My rtx 2080 ti disguises as quadro rtx 6000. I allocate a quadro rtx 6000 6q to one of my windows vm. It runs Nier Automata (with fps mod) perfectly at first with high settings 30 fps. When the vm is running longer, the vgpu usage increases from 3.5gb to 3.7gb, the gpu becomes hotter, and the game fps slows down.
I reboot the vm, it runs normally again, then fps drops after a while like 30 mins. There is a fixed time period for the game starting to have a fps drop.
I swap the rtx 2080 ti (quadro rtx 6000) to gtx 1070 (tesla p40), same thing happens, the usage begins to increase until the fps starts to drop. I wonder if it is a caching problem in the gpu, or simply a throttling problem. Lol can take up to 1.5gb only, but it does not suffer from fps even though one vm is running Nier Automata, another running Lol.
Is there a reason for that? Some kind of settings I can tune?
