Create a 3D correlation matrix (feature x feature x volume) and change the opacity to increase with stronger (absolute value) correlations.

If the features are voxels, you can arrange them to correspond with functional groups. Then on the side (corresponding to the time axis) display a histogram showing when different stimuli are presented. It would be interesting to see blobby structures emerge at these times.

Implemented the beginnings of this idea in this notebook

  • add a stationary parameter (for variance across time for each cell)
  • need to tag Aaron Lee in this!
