Text editing sign on barricade

Every time I am text editing a sign on a barricade, and I fully try exiting out of editing it my Minecraft crashes. To prevent this I am forced to pick the sign text, edit the sign go back to the select menu and then exit the barricade. It’s very annoying as if you forget to do that your Minecraft will crash every single time.
